Hmmm

Thought for the day- Sometimes we are forced to do things we won't ordinarily do because it will somehow bring us closer to our life goals-the question is how far are you willing to go???
Feel free to share your views, I am looking for some inspiration and doing a bit of research for something I am working on. Thanks

What a Morning!

I got up this morning, took one look out the window and said "Today is going to be a very grey day." With weather like this eveything that could go wrong will. So it began.

The day isnt over yet but so far I have been soaked to the core, lost money, had my staff reach late and several clients piss me off. So what do i do?

Well this is where this comes came from... I went onto Comedy Central's website and looked up some jokes. They helped me to crack a smile but then i decided maybe the best way to smile yourself is by making someone else smile.

So I called five of my close friends and gave each of them a joke and had them give me one in return. The joke had to be about the rain. My day hsn't changed- it is still grey outside, I am still broke and I still have too much work to do but on the upside i am smiling and sometimes laughing because now i have received alot of nice rain jokes sure to brighten up your rainy day.

Here's one...feel free to pls spread the smiles, you never know who ese had a morning like mine!

Rain?
A film crew was on location deep in the desert. One day an Old Indian went up to the director and said, "Tomorrow rain."The next day it rained.A week later, the Indian went up to the director and said, "Tomorrow storm."The next day there was a hailstorm."This Indian is incredible," said the director. He told his secretary to hire the Indian to predict the weather. However, after several successful predictions, the old Indian didnt show up for two weeks. Finally the director sent for him. "I have to shoot a big scene tomorrow," said the director, "and Im depending on you. What will the weather be like?"The Indian shrugged his shoulders. "Dont know," he said. "Radio is broken."

NO SMELTER

Today my friend Nicol Tull and I fasted in front of the EMA. In the 7 1/2hours we spent in silent protest, many people passed in thier cars and no one thought to ask instead of staring blankly from thier car windows. It makes me wonder what Trinbagonians really care about. If we were there with a Hieneken sign or some "giveaway" people would stop to ask a question but when it seems to be something serious no one takes the time to make themselves aware.
(Our heartfelt THANKS goes out to Michelle the UWI student who stopped to show her support).
My fellow citizens, these two small islands are our home. If termites were eating your home you would find out what you can do to stop them and then take action. Alcoa is the termites that have ruined several other pristine "homes" of citizens in other countries. Will we let them do this to our home also? Or will we make a termination plan!

My vow to Nature

Nothing can compare to the immense feelings of joy, freedom and peace that I feel when completely surrounded by nature & sharing those feelings with others. Wildlife Photographer and Tour Guide, I spend as much time as possible in exactly that state- “completely surrounded by nature.” My life’s goal and passion is to make as many people as possible feel that way too by helping them see the world through my eyes.
Even as I type these words I look around and my hands and eyes ache for the feel of my camera. Given the chance I would never put it down. It is my greatest desire that by showing my images the people would understand that heaven is not a place we go to when we die but a place we can be at if we open our hearts, minds and eyes to the paradise provided here on earth full of beauty and wonder.
As I look at birds, butterflies, plants, everything, untouched and untainted I see freedom and love- the two greatest possessions we humans will ever have. Nature lives in harmony with the earth, taking nothing more than it needs and giving back so much more. Conservation comes through education and it is easier to educate through visual stimulation. With my images and my tours I hope to encourage the upcoming generation to protect what has been entrusted to us so faithfully.
For the last 5 years I have been building a portfolio of stunning images of mainly birds of Trinidad and Tobago while studying Bird Biology. My education in the field is a continuing one which I am very proud to say gives my life a meaning and purpose.
I, Derek-Marie Selvon, promise to follow through with my life’s mission, to protect, preserve, conserve and record the Fauna and Flora of Trinidad and Tobago for as long as my days will allow!
